IT is hazy hot and humid, my kids are yelling at each other, little ants are crawling all over the place (quite literally), work is out of control, but this '74 show really is hitting the spot . . .

Thank God for the Good Ole' Grateful Dead

P.S. Quite divergent reviews on this show, it sounds good to my wax filled ears on my crappy Dell speakers though.

I used both cinn spice and chili (red) spice sprinkled liberally along trails and at nest...

The little effers are running around all random like, probably on drugs or something. No discernible trails, just random craziness. Sprinkling myself with Red Pepper powder now!!

Thanks WT. I think I may need to get some 5 gal buckets of both. My house is 150 years old and is on land that has underground streams (high water table). I have been using terro to keep the little buggers in check but our extremely wet spring and summer is turbocharging the little bastards. My kids help by liberally sprinkling the house with cookie crumbs, ice cream drippings and watermelon chunks - all favorites of the tiny ants. I figure if they are busy cleaning the floors, tables counters of crumbs and other food items they have less time to chew on the beams and planks so the integrity of the house is OK. However, and this is big, when they start crawling across the computer screen and up my legs and across my arms I start to get a little pissed. I think I will try your suggestion.

Others have suggested spray bottles of vinegar...

All of these though very "green" are not nearly as effective (they basically cause them to move rather than die) as good ol Raid...a little better than Raid are the boxes of bait that at least only target the ants, usually. But I try at all costs to avoid these approaches.

Just don't convince yourself that roughing up a few insects is going to qualify you for having shed your "nice guy" image...Pansy.

Good luck!

The Terro I use is basically sugar-water and borax, very effective (lethal to ants) and much greener than Raid.

"Thank God for the Good Ole' Grateful Dead"

I say this several times a week, though my frustrations arise from different causes than yours of this morning.
